Writing a journal is like pouring out your thoughts and feelings to a friend, only, you have more liberty to express your emotions because it's very private. You cannot exactly disclose every "juicy" detail of your escapades to your best friend, even if you love them. I write on both paper and digital. You can always use writing tools that you're comfortable with. There is really no definite rule because you're not writing for anyone else but yourself.
Here's why I keep a diary (or diaries)
Here's why I keep a diary (or diaries)
- It takes my mind off and appeases my current emotions concerning aggravating situations or disappointing moments. When you keep your emotions in check, you avoid getting into unnecessary trouble with anyone and you keep yourself on-track.
- It helps me keep track of my emotional health, attitude, and character.
- Writing digitally helps me connect with other people who are experiencing the same thing or those who have survived the same ordeal.
- Writing appeases & help me to forget the misdeed and forgive it easily even without having to confront anyone or demand an apology from someone. Unless it's a grave offense.
- Journalling helped me simplify my life in a way that I don't have to worry too much about remembering something or keeping thoughts and emotions bottled up. I can just write it and leave it and I'm fine for the day.
It may be a case-to-case basis for everyone, but this is how I found journalling enjoyable for me. It's actually easy to start one. I buy my cute journals at National Bookstore, sometimes I get creative and DIY my journals.
